Contract Position in Spanish, Vincennes University

The Department of Modern Foreign Languages in the Humanities Division
of Vincennes University invites applications for a fall semester (August—December
2012) contract faculty position in Spanish.
The teaching load is at
least 15 credit hours of beginning, intermediate, and occupationally specific
courses in Spanish. Depending on
enrollments, we hope that this can become a full-time position in the future.
Vincennes
University is a residential junior college in southwestern Indiana.Candidates
must have the following credentials: a
Master’s degree in Spanish, Spanish Literature, Spanish Education, or Hispanic
Studies (with a minimum of 18 graduate hours of course work taken in Spanish);
native or near-native fluency in Spanish; experience living, studying, and/or
working in a Spanish-speaking country; and a record of teaching excellence at
the beginning and intermediate levels.
Candidates must be able to work with students from a wide range of
abilities and backgrounds. Additionally, candidates must be
willing to serve in the following areas:
academic advising, assessment, articulation with other schools,
dual-credit courses with high schools, recruitment, and retention. Applicants

graduate transcripts, and three current letters of reference. The references should address the candidate’s
ability and experience as a teacher.
