Summary: The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at Oakland University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Foreign Language Education to begin August 15, 2015. Language of specialization open to French, German, Japanese, Spanish. We are seeking an individual with evidence of genuine enthusiasm for teaching foreign language courses and K-12 methodology courses in Foreign Language Education and for coordinating the Foreign Language Education program; the position includes academic advising and all matters related to curriculum development and accreditation. This position offers a competitive salary and full benefits; 2/2 teaching load. Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D., prior teaching experience in elementary or secondary foreign language, prior teaching experience or potential for university-level teaching in foreign language education methods, and a record of scholarly productivity are required. Preferred Qualifications: Foreign language teaching certification highly desirable.
