The Department of Teaching and Learning in the Simmons School of Education and Human Development of Southern Methodist University invites applications for a tenure-earning position at the Assistant Professor level to begin in the fall of 2013. Responsibilities include teaching, research, and service, with a reduced teaching assignment and correspondingly high expectations for research. While an appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor tenure track is anticipated, extraordinary candidates at all levels will be considered.
Qualifications include a commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching and a strong potential for developing an externally funded research program. Candidates should have an earned doctorate in education or a related field. Teaching experience at the elementary or secondary level is desirable.
