Assistant Professor of German University of Virginia The University of Virginia Arts & Sciences department of Germanic Languages & Literatures invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position with specialization in visual culture (e.g. film, film theory, photography, media studies). Ability to teach German cinema and excellent to near-native command of German are essential. Additional expertise in European/World cinema, gender studies, or other areas of German studies is strongly desired. The teaching load is two courses per semester, typically including at least one film course; academic service is required. Review of applications will begin on November 20, 2015. The position will remain open until filled. The appointment start date will begin August 25, 2016.
