Clemson University is a comprehensive public University with over 19,000 students. The Department of Languages is housed in a college that combines Humanities, Design and Building, and the Fine and Performing Arts. It currently offers three distinct degree programs: the B.A. in Modern Languages (ASL, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish); the B.A. in Language & International Trade (Chinese, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish); and a B.S. in Language & International Health (Chinese and Spanish).
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Asst Professor. The Department of Languages at Clemson University invites applications for a tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Spanish in Latin American Literature specializing in Women's Studies to commence in the fall of 2014. We are looking for outstanding teacher scholars who can contribute to interdisciplinary programs. Expertise in Latina/o Studies and/or Global Health is highly desirable. Along with courses pertaining to their field, successful candidates are expected to teach all levels of the Spanish curriculum.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required qualifications:
Ph.D. by the time the appointment begins; native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English; demonstrated excellence in teaching and research.
PAY & WORK SCHEDULE:
Standard Hrs: 37.5; Salary commensurate with salary and experience.
