## Job Description Summary Visiting Assistant Professor, German, one year appointment with possible renewal: Ph.D. in German (lang. & lit.) or equivalent, native or near-native proficiency in both German and English; strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, demonstrated ability to teach in an undergraduate German program including language (beginner through advanced); undergraduate intro to literature and undergraduate literature capstone (field of specialization open, preference to the eighteenth century/Goethezeit); also, the demonstrated ability to teach a specialty course, such as German culture or translation; willingness to perform some departmental, college or university service.
