Appointment renewal is contingent on successful performance. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities include teaching three Spanish language courses; research-based curriculum and assessment development/maintenance; instructor supervision and training; collaboration with Study Abroad faculty directors; coordination of student placement; participation in professional development programs. Active scholarship in the pedagogical endeavor is expected: conference attendance, presentations, workshops, action research, materials development and publications, etc. Minimum Qualifications: All applicants must have a Ph.D. in Spanish linguistics, Spanish pedagogy, or second language acquisition; demonstrated teaching excellence at the U.S. university level (student evaluations, classroom observations, other); excellent working (professional) command of English and Spanish (oral and written); demonstrated ability to work with task and content based pedagogy; experience with teacher supervision; extensive knowledge of instructional technology applied to classroom language pedagogy.
