Job Description
The University of Chicago Department of Germanic Studies seeks applicants
for a position as Lecturer to teach German 33300 in the Winter 2013 quarter.
The successful applicant must:
- hold a Ph.D. in German literature or linguistics
- possess native-like German AND English proficiency
- have extensive teaching experience at the graduate and undergraduate level
- have taught or tutored graduate students preparing for a reading exam
Duties include:
- regular class meetings, 3 hours a week for ten weeks
- holding office hours, minimum 2 hours per week
- preparing lesson plans and assessing homework, quizzes and other
assignments
- keeping records of attendance, and computing and submitting final grades
