JOB DETAILS: The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point announces a Tenure Track position in German at the level of Assistant Professor beginning August 2015. The successful candidate will teach 12 credits per semester and advise students in a dynamic and growing German program.
QUALIFICATIONS: Required:
- PH.D. in German or closely related field
- ABD will be considered, but doctorate must be in hand by the beginning of the second year for retention.
- Near-native fluency in German and in English
- An active research agenda with potential for peer reviewed publications
Preferred:
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching an undergraduate German curriculum centered on a proficiency-based method
- Familiarity with emerging instructional technologies
DEPARTMENT INFORMATION: The Department of World Languages and Literatures offers majors and minors in French, German and Spanish. It also offers Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, and Russian through the UW-System Collaborative Language Program, as well as an ESL and a Comparative Literature minor.
