The Philosophy Department at the University of Chicago seeks a Professor of German Idealism. Minimum teaching load: four courses/year; graduate and undergraduate; usual dissertation, committee responsibilities. The appointment is expected to begin academic year 2015-2016. AOS: Kant, Philosophy of Mind (esp. Self-Knowledge, Rationality, Philosophy of Perception). AOC: Post-Kantian German Philosophy, Philosophy of Psychology, Ethics and Moral Psychology.Required elements of the dossier are: cover letter, CV, teaching statement, dissertation abstract, research statement, contact information for at least 3 and up to 5 letters of reference, syllabi, and writing sample. Optional elements are an additional writing sample, which may be a publication. All required elements of the dossier must be submitted to the University's Academic Careers website, https://academiccareers.uchicago.edu, posting #02491.Letters of reference are not required at this stage of the application process. Application review begins on Saturday, February 7, 2015, and continues until position is filled. No applications or dossier materials will be accepted after March 7, 2015.
