German: Word of the Week - die Feuerwehr

The Feuerwehr literally translates into English as "fire defense." Most of Germany's fire fighters are members of the Freiwillige Feuerwehr, i.e. voluntary fire brigades.

Die Feuerwehr hat rote Autos. / The fire fighters have red cars.
