POSITION: German Teacher (1.0 Leave of Absence)
SALARY: determined by placement on the District salary schedule, plus fringe benefits
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Teach the adopted curriculum and evaluate student progress toward attainment of learning
objectives.
• Develop and maintain an effective instructional environment.
• Organize the instructional program to provide for individual differences.
• Provide for the personal and social growth of students.
• Promote an understanding of the District's and program's educational goals with parents through
participating in parent conferences and other related activities.
• Engage in activities which promote personal professional growth.
• Work collaboratively with other staff members and administrators to improve the educational
program.
• Ability to model positive behavior.
• Ability to provide instruction and demonstrate techniques.
• Ability to use necessary equipment, technology, and software.
• Coordinate and monitor student progress in the regular classroom and supplement regular
classroom instruction.
• Provide academic guidance and counseling for students under his/her direction.
• Maintain appropriate individual student records.
• Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned by the program administrator.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Washington State Teaching Certificate. Endorsed certificates must be applicable to the
assignment.
2. Meets NCLB Highly Qualified requirements for the assignment.
3. Ability to articulate and implement State of Washington Essential Academic Learning
requirements.
4. Demonstrates ability to work successfully with age appropriate students, staff and multicultural
community.
5. Demonstrates classroom management procedures that provide for large and small groups, and
individuals, establish routines and provides for an environment of learning.
6. Demonstrates the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and oral form.
7. Flexible in learning new concepts, cooperates with others, and adapts to a variety of assignments
and conditions.
8. Gain the respect and confidence of students, parents, and staff through the modeling of
appropriate behavior.
9. Demonstrated interest in and evidence of continued personal and professional growth.

Outside applicants must complete the online application process as stated for district employees except you must
register as a first time visitor or previous applicant. Once you have registered as an applicant, you may apply to
specific openings by navigating through open positions, registered user, positions tab, and then choosing
certificated, classified or administrative openings. On the far right you must click on the Apply button next to the
position you wish to apply.
