Foreign Language Instructor (Mandarin, Spanish, German) in Metro Detroit

Open Positions: LinguaFlo, LLC is looking for several foreign language instructors with specialties in Mandarin, Spanish and German to teach children part-time after school hours. This work is intended for independent contractors looking for supplementary income that are available on one or multiple days during the week between 3pm and 7pm and/or during the day on Saturdays. Exact times will be negotiated by LinguaFlo and the independent contractor prior to the start of each class. Classes will take place in various locations in Metro Detroit, including but not limited to West Bloomfield and Farmington. Most classes will begin in early October 2013 and will meet 1-2x week for 1-2 hours. Teachers will be expected to design lesson plans for each class based on the teacher’s manual and guidelines provided to them. Compensation will be between
$25-$30 per hour of teaching.

Requirements
- K12 teaching certification preferred but not required.
- Experience teaching a foreign language.
- Experience teaching children (preferably ages 9-12).
- Proof of fluency via a standardized proficiency test, such as the ACTFL OPI (Advanced Low or higher) or a state certification test, OR native speaker of the language of instruction.

By completing our program students will be prepared to take the STAMP Assessment and attain the proficiency needed to meet the Michigan Merit Curriculum’s World Language requirement for high school graduation.
