One way to facilitate language learning might be to show students how native speakers have similar lifestyles...such as the five drunk French teenagers stealing a llama and taking it on a tram ride!
News article from The Independent can be found here.
After watching the video and reading the news article, the students may be engaged in various activities:
- As the event takes place in Bordeaux, students may be prompted to do a research about the town, and then write about where the llama went/what it saw using le passe compose, or where it might have been/what it might have seen using le conditionnel.
- Since the llama was from a circus, various vocabulary games may be played using circus vocabulary such as animal, trick and prop names.
- For advanced classes, issues such as whether it is right to use animals in a circus may be discussed.
