German Lecturer (open until filled), Department of German, University of California - Berkeley
The Department of German seeks an applicant pool of qualified temporary instructors to teach German language courses at all levels should an opening arise. The pool will remain in place for two calendar years; those interested in remaining in the pool beyond that time must reapply. Positions will be part-time, renewable, non-tenure track beginning as early as 15 January 2014 for the spring semester. The number of positions varies from semester to semester, and appointments may be renewable based on need, funding and performance.
Minimum requirement includes an M.A. or equivalent in German or related field by application deadline. Additional qualifications include native or near-native fluency in German and English, demonstrated excellence in teaching, familiarity with college-level language programs, and teaching experience using current language-teaching methodologies such as the communicative approach and text-based language teaching. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
