School Director Job Announcement – German International School Chicago
German International School Chicago is seeking a school director for the 2014-2015 school year. GISC, founded in 2009, is a German-language immersion school currently with grades PreK-4th and intends to grow to the completion of high school.
The principal is the instructional and administrative head of the school and is responsible for the effective operation of the school. S/he is the primary agent for creating an environment that fosters academic excellence and vitality and viability. S/he is responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere for all members of the school community (faculty, staff, students, parents and donors) and a climate that encourages the engagement of each student in the learning process while fostering a love for learning.
Qualifications:
The Director of GISC holds a Masters degree or equivalent, with administrative experience, significant teaching experience and near-native fluency in German.
