Start Date: August 16, 2014.
Qualifications: Ph.D. in German Studies, or closely related field. ABD applicants will be considered if all degree requirements will be met by August 15, 2014. If all requirements for the Ph.D. are not completed by August 15, 2014, a 9-month term appointment may be offered at the rank of Instructor at a reduced rate of pay. Demonstrated excellence in college-level language-teaching, excellent proficiency in German and English, and evidence of strong research potential required. Research specialization open. Experience or expertise relevant to our interdisciplinary Foreign Language and International Trade program is preferred. We are also particularly interested in candidates with experience or expertise in interdisciplinary courses (taught in English) or Study Abroad, and candidates with formal training in pedagogy.
Duties: Teaching language, literature and culture courses at all undergraduate levels; maintaining an active program of peer-reviewed scholarship; mentoring students; providing appropriate service to department, University and discipline.
