Assistant Professor – German, Wellesley College, Massachusetts
The Department of German at Wellesley College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor. The Department is seeking an outstanding scholar with a specialization in post-1750 German literature and culture. Preferred candidates will have a strong background in literary history and a marked interest for interdisciplinary inquiries. They will also have a record of, or demonstrated potential for, distinguished scholarly research as well as a strong commitment to language teaching and to innovative approaches to classroom technology.
Responsibilities will include teaching four courses per year at all levels of the curriculum as well as advising and service contributions. PhD preferred (ABD considered). Native or near-native command of German and English is required.
Salary is competitive and commensurate with credentials; the successful applicant will have access to a conference travel budget and competitive faculty awards to support research.
