Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s Humanities and Arts Department invites applications for Postdoctoral Scholar of German language and literature.  This is a one-year position with the possibility of renewal. We are seeking applicants with experience and ability in language teaching as well as strong scholarly promise in their chosen field, preferably German studies, 19th or 20th-century literature, film, second-language pedagogy, literary translation, or any combination thereof.  Applicants must have a Ph.D. in hand by September 2014. 

German faculty at WPI belong to a multi-disciplinary Department of Humanities and Arts. In addition to a three-semester DaF sequence, we teach advanced courses in literature, culture and civilization, and film. WPI also has a one-semester exchange program with the Hochschule für Technik, Wirtschaft und Gestaltung in Konstanz and an active German Club.
